I should have stayed in,I know. But for some reason, what I find more difficult than anything else, is to tackle this mal du depart; as soon as the phone rings, I'm prone to abandon my chaotic desk and uncomfortable little chair and hit the road...
So, only an hour away from Manchester to the Northwest lies Blackpool, a seaside town that could have been beautiful if not for human intervention. What first strikes any newcomer is how the sea seems like a live mass of moving ground..The waves are high and uncanny, while with every splash, tiny spits of foam float in the air; the piers are beautiful, though abandoned and forlorn in winter.
I could shoot a film by the seashore.I haven't decided if it would be the end of a love affair or a horror sequence. But it would definitely be in black and white..
